Call of Duty: MW3 - Mission: Iron Clad (Special Ops DLC) - Overview

“Iron Clad” is a downloadable content (DLC mission) of Special Ops Mission Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The objective of the mission is to guide and escort the tank to the harbor of Hamburg. The mission takes place in Hamburg, Germany, and covers the map (reverse) of mission "Goalpost".

Call of Duty: MW3 - Special Ops: Iron Clad

This DLC mission was first made available only to “Call of Duty's Elite” premium members for Xbox360 on 13^th March 2012 and on 20^th March 2012 to non-premium members. On 12^th April 2012 Black Ice was available to premium members for PS3 and for non-premium members, it was released on 19^th April 2012. For PC mission Black Ice is made available from 8^th May, 2012.

Single Player Walkthrough:

You (Delta) will find yourself on the road near the parking garage beside the tank. Baseplate orders you to reach the exfil point with the tank. You have to guide Pit Boss (the tank) on when to move and when & where to strike on your enemy. You then push forward some Russian soldiers arrive at the corner of the street. You engage and eliminate them and also ask for assistance from the tank. Clearing the area you order the move the tank to that cornet.

Then you take the right lane of the street. Once you move forward Baseplate orders you to destroy the barricade with C4, he also informs you about the suicide bombers in the area. You destroy the barricade and engage in a fight with the Russians. Once the area is clear you order the tank to move in. Then you move to the next barricade. As you reach near it an enemy tank appears from the east side of the road. You destroy it using your SMAW. Call Pit Boss near the barricade. Just the time it reaches there an enemy Havoc flies in over the building from the southeast. Mark it as a target with the laser in your assault rifle so the tank can take care of the chopper. You then destroy the barricade to open a path for Pit Boss. More enemies appear from several spots on the street as you move forward. Ask for some assistance from Pit Boss in the fight.

**Try to kill the suicide bombers and hostiles with RPG, because they can cause damage on Pit Boss. Also, the tank’s mortar shells and attack chopper’s rockets have a heavy impact on Pit Boss. So try to eliminate the threats by yourself and do not die. You will spot several enemy vehicles, oil tankers, enemy trucks, and private cars on the road, and mark those as targets for the tank, the destruction will help to eliminate the enemies nearby. Another important thing is your ammunition. You can refill them from the tank if you need to.

Once you reach the halfway another fighter bird arrives and Pit Boss takes care of it. More hostiles and bombers appear once you destroy the fighter. Eliminating them you call the tank to advance. Once Pit Boss reaches the halfway another hind arrives. Once the bird is down you reach for the obstacle and breach it with a C4. Then you fight another group of hostile.

You then reach the junction of the road. The starts to appear from the harbor area. Elimination them you order the tank to move there. Just as the tank arrives at the junction some enemy vehicles arrive there with reinforcement. The tank destroys all the vehicles and you take care of the ground units.

Baseplate informs about the significant activity on the beach. After that, you head for the last obstacle. This time the Russians use smoke to hide their positions, several bomber approaches, many hostiles start striking with RPGs, and an enemy hind arrives, you manage to eliminate them all with the assistance of Pit Boss.

You eliminate some hostiles on the beach area, then call the tank near the last obstacle before you breach it. Just the time you breach the obstacle, you spot a green smoke near the shoreline. Once you put your step on the beach several armored vehicles, a tank, and a hind arrive to confront you. After taking care of all these, you order Pit Boss to head for the exfil point and you also advance beside it. As you reach the exfil, a friendly LCAC reaches there for extraction, and just the time the tank reaches it the mission ends.

You can play this mission in 3 difficulties. Playing the mission in Regular difficulty will give you a star, in Hardened you will get 2 stars and if you play in Veteran difficulty you will get 3 stars.

Gameplay of Iron Clad:

In two-player mode, one will play as the Delta and the other will play as the tank commander. The player on the ground will escort Pit Boss and clear the obstacles in the way. And the player in the tank will drive it to the exfil point.
