Call of Duty: MW3 - Mission: Goalpost - Overview
"Goalpost" is
the ninth mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and the first in Act 2. The
main objective of the mission is to rescue the Vice President of the United
States from being a hostage. The mission takes place in Hamburg, Germany.
Playable character Sgt. Derek “Frost” Westbrook.
In the cinematic
cutscene, it appears that not only London but also many other places in Europe
have been exposed to the gas attack. GIGN Commander Morel reports that they
have been exposed and most of his men are dead or wounded.

Ramstein Air Force Base
reports that they are under attack. Responding immediately Overlord informs
that they are sending decon units. The base then informs that they are under
attack by the Russian army, not the gas. Overlord states, the gas attacks were
intended to cripple the defenses and pave the way for an invasion. As they lost
contact with the delegation, Overlord deployed the Metal Team to Hamburg to rescue
the U.S. Vice President.
Delta Force along with
other armed forces flies into Hamburg facing heavy resistance from the Russian
army. It destroyed several American aircraft. Russian army keeps attacking from
defensive positions, while Delta Force advances up the beach with other U.S
Rangers and the Rhino unit. Clearing the beach area, Metal Team takes cover in
a plane's wreckage.
U.S. forces push
forward eliminating the Russians while Rhino units are taking care of the
Russian tanks. Clearing the street they regroup on the tank, Commander Carter
explains that the parking garage is their only way to get to the other side,
and also explains that the parking garage may not sustain, if they move faster.
Just after that, Carter
gets shot in the head and dies. In a quick action, Rhino eliminates the sniper
threat, and Frost replaces Carter's position. Russian hinds start attacking the
tanks, forcing them to move backward. Rhino units turn on the trophy system to
protect the tanks from serious damage.
When Rhino 1 and 2 move
forward again, enemy forces start to fall back to the parking garage. Dealing
with the enemies, Rhino tanks make their way through the ground floor of that
garage. When the tanks take a ramp to climb up, it collapses taking Rhino 2 to
the underground. Fortunately, the unit is still combat-ready. As the crash
damaged the tank system, the crew started moving on foot. Sandman joins them
and fights their way out of the parking. On the streets, Rhino 1 joins them and
assists them toward their objective. While Rhino pushes forward clearing the
street, Frost with others clears the buildings to their right.
After that, they take
the street again and move toward the convoy at the end of the street. Turning
left of the street they found the Vice-President's convoy, but no one was
there. Just after Sandman finishes the communication with Overlord about the
situation, Rhino 2 gunner informs about a blood trail leading upstairs.
Following the trail
when they reach at 2nd floor they notice that the Russians are closing a door
in a hurry. As Sandman and his team breach the room, they try to kill the Vice
President. As soon as Delta Force secures the Vice President, a Raptor 4 arrives
to exfil them.

Intel Locations of Goalpost:
There are 3 Intel you
can find in Mission Goalpost.
01. Intel number 20,
the first one of the mission is located inside the destroyed plane on the north
end of the street. You will find the plane on your right as you pass the beach
area.
02. The next one was
placed on a weapons crate on the right side of the road behind a wall in front
of the first building. Just before you regroup on the tank you will find it.
03. “Teknikor
Deutschland” the building where the Vice President is kept captive. On the
first floor of that building, you will find the third Intel, on a working desk
located on your right.
