Call of Duty: MW3 - Mission: Black Ice (Special Ops DLC) - Overview

“Black Ice” is a downloadable content (DLC mission) of Special Ops Mission Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The mission takes place in Eastern Siberia, Russia and this is an extended map of mission "Down the Rabbit Hole". The objective is to locate and neutralize Makarov's hidden weapon facility.

Call of Duty: MW3 - Special Ops: Black Ice

This DLC mission was first made available only to “Call of Duty's Elite” premium members for Xbox360 on 13^th March 2012 and on 20^th March 2012 to non-premium members. On 12^th April 2012 Black Ice was available to premium members for PS3 and for non-premium members, it was released on 19^th April 2012. For PC mission Black Ice is made available from 8^th May, 2012.

At the beginning of the mission, you (Metal 0-4) will find yourself driving a snowmobile toward Makarov's weapon facility. Try to eliminate as many enemies as you can until reach the diamond mine. You also have to destroy the snowmobiles, enemies are using to chase you. During the rush, Price will keep posting about your enemy locations.

Once you reach the mine an armored vehicle arrives at the entrance, destroy it before the hostiles can get out. Two more soldiers will arrive from inside, kill them, and move for the gate. Once you reach there some soldiers will try to stop you. After eliminating them all, as you pass the gate Price informs you that the security office is other side of the compound.

Three more will approach for you breaching the glass windows as you move forward. Reaching that room you will find some weapons placed on the ground, you can change your weapon if you want.

Fight your way through the tunnel to reach the security room. Breaching the security room’s door, just the time you eliminate all the enemies inside, Overlord orders you to plant a DSM on the server. Once it is done a countdown will start immediately and you will get 75 seconds (in every difficulty) to return to the exit. But you have to fight your way back.

You will see a Little Bird outside the facility waiting to pick you up. Once you are in soldiers will start shooting at your chopper. Once the chopper flies to a safer distance, you will witness the explosion. And the mission ends with it.

You can play this mission in 3 difficulties. Playing the mission in Regular difficulty will give you a star, in Hardened you will get 2 stars and if you play in Veteran difficulty you will get 3 stars.
