Call of Duty: MW3 - Mission: Blood Brothers

"Blood Brothers" is the fourteenth mission of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The main objective of the mission is to assassinate Makarov at the Hotel Lustig. Playing as Yuri you have to assist Soap, Price, and Kamarov to accomplish the mission. The mission story follows the previous one, and it takes place in Prague, Czech Republic.

At the very beginning of the mission, Price briefed their plan again. As Kamarov is inside the hotel, Price asks Yuri and Soap for the signal. Soap and Yuri keep an eye on the road from the church tower waiting for Makarov's convoy. Captain Price from the rooftop, preparing to ambush Makarov inside the hotel.

When the vehicles arrive in front of the building, Soap informs Price. Price asks for Makarov’s location if Soap can spot him. Soap then repeats that Makarov is heading for the building. Price immediately tries to communicate with Kamarov, but does not get any response. Soap guess that Kamarov might forget to switch on the radio. Price decides to move into the building through the balcony. Soap and Yuri take down the guards on the balcony so Price rappels down into the building. Inside he finds Kamarov captive and clad in explosives. It seems Makarov is already aware of and prepared for them. He then radioed Price and detonated the explosives. Yuri and Soap witnessed the death of Kamarov, luckily Price manages to escape. Makarov then radioed Yuri and triggered another explosive on their location.

"Yuri, my friend. You never should have come here." – Makarov

Just before the bomb explodes Soap pushes Yuri out of a window and manages to jump taking some impact of the explosion. The two hitting the construction loft fell onto the ground. The impact of the explosion and the fall seriously injured Soap, and wounds causing him to bleed out. Price comes and finds Yuri and Soap lying on the ground. Price removes the loft fallen over Soap, then helps Yuri to stand up, and then asks to grab Soap. While Price is clearing the path, Yuri grabs Soap and runs across the area following him. While escaping the encounters attack from all sides of the road. Realizing the road is not safe Price makes a hole in a building and the three escape inside. Through there they reach the backyard. Before entering the next building Price hands Yuri his gun and picks Soap up. There Soap asks to contact Nikolai.

“We need … Nikolai … get us out …” – Soap

The three enter the building and encounter several enemies, through the shop, clearing their way they reach a small courtyard. Price with Soap Take cover behind a statue and as soon as you clear the courtyard, enemies start to strike from the rooftop forcing you to get into the building near the statue. Through there they end up on a narrow street, taking a right as they reach the corner they take cover in a store on their left. As Yuri eliminates all the enemies they leave the store and run through a basketball court. Enemies start chasing them from behind, Yuri covers the two and reaches a building northwest of the basketball court. Yuri holds their position as hard as he can, some Czech Resistance then emerges from the building and joins Yuri. Defending their position, they move Soap inside the building and place him on a table. Price and Yuri try to stop Soap's bleeding, and ask for medical support. Soap here tells Price that Makarov knows Yuri, and making their all efforts in vain Soap dies.

After Soap's death, Price pulls his pistol and lays it on Soap's chest saying, "I'm sorry." And takes Soap's dog tags and the diary. As enemies start attacking the building, the two run toward a door that Price told Yuri to open. Once he opens it, Price punches him down the stairs and holds him at gunpoint. Questioning Yuri’s loyalty, Price asks how Makarov knows him. Yuri then starts the share his memories, which leads us to a series of flashbacks.

Yuri's Memories:

In the winter of 1996, it’s a memory from the mission “One Shot, One Kill” of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The time when Price and MacMillan tried to assassinate Imran Zakhaev in Pripyat, Ukraine. Yuri was in the car with Makarov, where Makarov explained the reason for the deal. Imran Zakhaev was shot by Price in the left arm and quickly got in the car. Makarov drove his car hastily running over several soldiers.

In 2011, Yuri was with him at Al-Asad’s Safehouse situated in the Middle East, when Makarov ordered Khaled Al-Asad to detonate the nuclear bomb that killed thousands. A memory related to mission "Shock and Awe" of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

“Understand, Yuri. This is only the beginning.” – Makarov

Yuri shares another memory of the year 2016 from the mission "No Russian" of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In that, he tried to stop Makarov from killing the civilians at Zakhaev International Airport, in Moscow, Russia. But got captured, and Makarov shot him and left to die. Once Makarov left, Yuri managed to get into the elevator that led up to the airport lobby. There he witnessed the death of many innocents. Yuri grab a pistol and tries to go after Makarov but blacked out and the paramedic team found him.

“I was a soldier of Russia, not a taker of innocent lives. But in his eyes, this marked me as the enemy.” — Yuri

When Yuri ends the story, Price tells Yuri that he bought himself some time.
