Resident Evil 6 - Episode: Cavern - Overview
Cavern is the twelfth part
of Leon's campaign and the second part (Episode) of the third chapter. This
content covers two part of the game, known as “Cavern” and “Underground Water
Channel”.
Walkthrough:
Through the opening
Leon and Helena fall into a cave. After handling the situation, the two start
to search for a way out. Fighting their way they reach a bridge and use a crank
to lower it down. Once the bridge is placed, Leon spots a Shrieker other side.
As Leon kills it more zombies approach them. After killing them all they move
forward, they have to jump between several columns on their way. Leon spots
another Shrieker and starts to chase it. During the chase, the path collapses.
Leon manages to escape the fall grabbing the edge, Helena helps him to climb
up.
The two then jump to
the other side and reach a wooden bridge. Leon spots a Whopper on the other
side of the bridge. When Leon shoots at it, the Whopper starts running toward
them. Leon kills it with an explosive. Then they move forward killing their enemies
including another Whopper.
They jump down to a
platform at a certain point. There Leon helps Helena to reach the other column
nearby. But when Helena lands on it the column starts to collapse. Helena
managed to grab the column but many zombies tried to reach her. Leon kills them
all to save her. As Helena starts to move toward the bridge Leon provides
cover. Helena confronts a Shrieker and a Whopper on her way. Some zombies
arrive at Leon’s point and He kills them all. Helena reached the bridge and lowered
it down.
Leon reaches the other
side and spots a large rock blocking their path. The two push the rock down and
clear their path. They then jump down to the path below. They push forward and
reach a bridge. They confront several zombies including a Bloodshot on their
way. They start to lower the bridge, seems that the process is shaking the
column they are standing on.
The bridge collapses
taking down the column. The two jump down a nearby column. But the impact also
affected the columns nearby. The two then start running forward to escape the
impact. They dodge several zombies, jump between several columns, and push
another large rock on their way. Finally, they reach a tunnel. But seems the
impact breaks the cave wall and water starts falling from above. And it floats
them into the tunnel.
Through the tunnel,
they fall into an underground water channel. They then start moving through the
underwater lobby to find the exit. Leon spots something mysterious on the way,
which is hunting for food. The creature destroyed the lobby and blocked the
path. Leon then takes an opening on his left and keeps diving forward. They
pass several dead bodies on their way and reach a hatch. They open the hatch to
get some air.
But after some moment,
something pulled Helena down. Leon goes after it. Seems that the mysterious
creature is nothing but a zombie shark (Brzak – a Bio Organic Weapon). It
grabbed Helena in its mouth and Leon managed to grab its dorsal fin. Helena is
fighting to free herself from it while Leon trying to reach her. The shark
releases Helena when she strikes it for the second time in its eye. Leon then
strikes again on its snout.
Leon and the shark
(Brzak) then fall from the waterfall. Leon spots Helena unharmed on the surface
nearby. Helena warns him about Brzak. Leon then swims in a search for a place
to climb on the ground. He reaches a gate and asks Helena to open it. Helena
opens the gate. Leon passes it and starts swimming toward the land. Helena
alerts Leon when she spots Brzak. Leon starts swimming faster and Brzak starts
to chase him. Helena from the bridge tries to slow down Brzak. Taking several
shoot Brzak drown in the water. After some time it appears again and Helena
manages to send it down. Leon then resumes swimming again and encounters a zombie
attack. As Helena kills it, Brzak arrives for the third time. Helena manages to
defeat it and Leon gets on the land.
They then engage in
removing the fence to clear the path. Brzak strikes from behind, sends the two
to another tunnel, and starts chasing them. The two then engage this B.O.W.
while sliding backward. They noticed that the dynamite was slowing the B.O.W.
down. Leon then tells Helena to aim for the dynamite. They managed to shoot at
one and Brzak died in the explosion.
The tunnel brings them
to a river. They manage to grab some logs floating on the river. The two saw
two fighter jets passing over them and witnessed a large explosion. The two
then reach the land. It seems Simmons is trying to sterilize the area to
destroy the evidence. Hunnigan then contacts them, and Leon asks her about
Simmons. Hunnigan informs that he is leaving for China. Hunnigan shows some
documents of BSAA reported about another bioterrorism attack. Leon says that
they need to stop and arrest Simmons immediately. Hunnigan says that without
evidence they cannot do that and also informs them that they are at the top of
their suspect list. Leon then requests Hunnigan to fake their death, so that
they can follow Simmons to China. The chapter ends here.
